One undeniable truth in swimming is “we repeat at race time what we do in practice.” If your child demonstrates race-worthy strokes, starts, and turns in every practice, the good habits show themselves on the last length of the race and success will be inevitable.
Successful competitive swimmers are always looking for ways to move through the water better. Focusing solely on conditioning and training (i.e., doing lots of hard laps) without regard to technique leads only to strokes that break down at the end of the race. Your child needs to not only learn how to do the right strokes, but she needs to practice swimming those great strokes as she gets tired or picks up speed.
Our coaches will not only do advanced stroke refinements but will also refine starts, turns and finishes — skills critical to racing success. Your child will leave class each week with 1-2 things to think about during swim practice. That additional focus will give your child an edge over the other kids who are just chasing the kids in the lane.
Classes are small so strict on technique and are very focused. No hurry to move to next step. — J.C.
I really like how the underwater camera is used and the coaches always use drills that are relevant to improving/developing correct technique. — M.H.
I love their flexibility and attention to making sure the student is correctly breathing, their technique. — G.R.
Really, I was thoroughly impressed by all aspects of the Chicago Blue Dolphins. The office staff was professional, attentive, and organized. The facility was well-designed, well-equipped, and very clean. We were there for the purpose of stroke refinement, and my opinion is that the Endless Pool with the underwater camera was instrumental in achieving our goals. This setup allowed for visual feedback and allowed the coach the ability to physically adjust the swimmer, while he was swimming. Impressive and effective. But in the end, we were there because of Coach Fitz. Fitz met and exceeded even the high expectations I had. He is extremely knowledgeable and was able to convey that knowledge to my 8-yr old son, so that we saw the improvement in the strokes during the course of the lesson. He provided a lot of positive feedback to my son and was able to build a good rapport during the 50 minute lesson. The only problem is, now my son wants to swim there everyday. — D.C.
Private and Semi-Private Lesson Tuition
While we offer both 25 and 50 minute private lessons, children in this group seem to work best with 50 minute lessons. We typically work on more than one stroke and use the video cameras, so the extra time helps your child get more out of the lesson. We offer private lessons in one, two, and three person options; if you would like to do semi-private lessons, you need to provide the other members in the party. Purchases of five lessons at a time will receive a 10% discount.
If you are unsure where your child fits in to our group class progression or whether private or group classes best meet her needs, contact our office to schedule a 25-minute Skills Assessment lesson. Our instructor will run your child through a series of exercises to determine her current skill level and then will give you an overview of the skills progression that best matches her skills and goals.
If you opt to move ahead with one of our private lesson tuition plans, you will be charged for a $20.00 annual membership to cover insurance and safety costs. If you continue on with us beyond one year (and we hope you do), you will be charged the annual membership fee on each anniversary you have with us.

Group Class Tuition and Class Sizes
You will pay tuition for your classes either one month at a time (“the Single Month Plan”) or at a discounted rate with a three month commitment (“the Three Month Plan”). If you select the Three Month Plan, you will still be charged tuition on a monthly basis; if you disenroll from the class before the completion of the three month term, we will charge you the difference between the three month and one month rates for each class you took during the three months. For more details about disenrolling from a class, see “Disenrollment from Automatic Tuition Renewal” on our Policies and Procedures page.
In addition to the tuition from the plan you select, you will be charged for a $20.00 annual membership to cover insurance and safety costs. If you continue on with us beyond one year (and we hope you do), you will be charged the annual membership fee on each anniversary you have with us.
We offer our Advanced Child classes in a small group setting. We keep the size of our group classes small to give each child more attention and practice. Our student-to-teacher ratio in these classes is 3:1. Advanced Child classes are 45 minutes in duration.
The table below shows the tuition cost per month for each plan.
