General Directions From the North: Take Taylor Street/Roosevelt Road exit off of Interstate 90/94 (Kennedy Expressway). At the second stoplight, which is Roosevelt Road, turn right. Flames Natatorium is located just inside the Physical Education Building at 901 West Roosevelt Road, about one block west, once you turn onto Roosevelt Road. Parking is available across the street from the Physical Education Building. From the West: Take Racine Avenue exit off of Interstate 290 (Eisenhower Expressway). Turn right at Racine and immediately make a left onto Harrison Street. Take Harrison Street to Halsted Street and turn right. Take Halsted Street about half a mile to Roosevelt Road. Take Ashland Avenue to Harrison Street and turn left. Take Harrison Street to Halsted Street and turn right. Take Halsted Street about half a mile to Roosevelt Road. At Roosevelt Road turn right. Flames Field is located behind the Physical Education Building at 901 West Roosevelt Road, about one block west, once you turn onto Roosevelt Road. Parking is available across the street from the Physical Education Building. By Public Transit: The Halsted (#8) Bus drops off at Roosevelt Road just one block east of the Physical Education Building. Either Blue Line train drops off at the “UIC/Halsted” stop near Halsted and Harrison; the #8 bus going south can be picked up from Halsted outside the station. The Red Line drops off at the “Roosevelt” stop. Walk through the station to Roosevelt Rd. and take the Roosevelt (#12) bus west to the Physical Education Building. Men can enter their locker room through a ramp just inside the pool doors. Women can use the changing room inside the Large Pool area. Getting to the Small Pool Enter through the doors on Roosevelt. To your right is the gym. Go down the stairs just outside the gym. Take a soft left to a long hallway. Follow the hallway all the way around until you see signs for the women’s locker room and a stairway to your right. Go up the stairs. Continue to walk down the hall. The small pool is the first door on your right after the stairs. You should hear waves.
General Directions By Public Transit: The Brown Line train drops off at Chicago and Orleans. You'll walk to Wells and about two blocks (0.3 miles) north to the Solheim Center. The Red Line train drops off at Chicago and State. Park General Directions From the North: Take Lake Shore Drive (US 41) and get off at the Grand Ave. exit toward Wacker Dr./Illinois St. Take a slight left on Lake Shore Drive. Take a left on E. Illinois St. Turn left at N. Streeter Dr. From the South: Take Lake Shore Drive (US 41) and get off at the Illinois St. exit heading toward Grand Ave. Merge onto N. Streeter Dr. From Northside on the Kennedy Expressway: (I94E/I90E): From the Kennedy Expressway (I94E/I90E), take Exit 50B to merge on W. Ohio St toward 600N. Turn right on N. McClurg Ct. Turn left on E. Illinois St. Turn left at N. Streeter Dr. From the Southside on the Dan Ryan Expressway: (I94W/I90W): From the Dan Ryan Expressway (I94W/I90E), take exit 53C on the left to merge onto I-55 N. toward Lake Shore Dr. Take the Lake Shore Dr./US-41 exit. Merge onto US-41 N. Take the Illinois St. exit toward Grand Ave. Merge onto N. Streeter Dr.
