Fast Forward Informational Questionnaire

One of our major goals for 2023 is restarting a practice and conditioning program for our adult clients.  We are calling this program Fast Forward because its components will fast forward the progress toward your goals.  We want to provide you with clear and extensive practice resources to take to the pool, so your practice and training time is as effective as possible.  Rather than roll out a one-size-fits-all US Masters or Triathlon training program, we want to launch a program that delivers individualized training programs while offering access to resources to make you feel part of a larger community.

The intent of this survey is to get your feedback on that the program we are designing. We want to make sure that (a) you see value in all the resources that we want to provide and (b) we didn’t miss an important resource that you really need. The survey starts by gathering information about you and your swim practice habits and then assesses your interest in each of the resources listed below.  The complete list of resources we’ve imagined are:

  1. Monthly Practice Packs: A month’s package structured practices (2-3 per week) that will improve your technique, build your endurance, and increase your speed. The difficulty of the practices will increase as your skills improve.
  2. Practice Feedback: Ability to provide feedback to your coach including actual time and yardage and comments on how the practice went
  3. Video Links: Links to videos for key activities contained in the practice pack
  4. Facebook Group: A private Facebook group where you can ask questions to our coaches, post items of interest to the community, and collaborate with other students
  5. Paid Calibration Clinics: Once per month optional, paid “calibration” clinics where we will guide you through a test set, get your key swimming metrics (pace, stroke count, tempo, heart rate), and identify your key technical focus. You will individualize your practices using this information. This clinic would be in addition to any fees for the program.
  6. Article Library: A library of articles or links to articles to provide you the conceptual background behind the program you are using
  7. Student Practice Directory: A master directory of other students, the pools they use, and practice times to enable you to “team up” in your practices

We appreciate any feedback you can give us.  If you like all of the ideas, it’s okay to rank them all high.  We’re more interested in identifying those resources we can leave out.  We look forward to launching this very exciting program to Blue Dolphin Nation!

Note: The Paid Calibration Clinic will require a pool rental and a coach, so it will be priced similar to a one-day group clinic.
